As soon we clear Halloween and turn back the clocks it seems as though the holidays are at the top of everyone minds. But this is not entirely true. In looking through some recent sales data, I was surprised to see how many gifts we engraved celebrating Anniversaries. Just this week alone we engraved 3 cheese boards for 5th anniversary gifts as well as 2 pepper grinder sets. (By the way wooden gifts still seem to be the traditional 5th wedding anniversary gift). We also engraved a few decanters for 25th and 50th Wedding Anniversaries.
So during all the holiday fervor couples are getting married, however one oddity is that even though we are engraving anniversary gifts at this time of year we seldom engrave wedding gifts. Isn’t that strange? Do people who get married in November and December just elope? Or are their friends and families just overwhelmed with holidays and forgo the traditional wedding gifts and opt for generalized “wedding-holiday-gifts.” Of course since we are an engraving company it is hard to say for sure what is motivating these sales. However if any of you have an idea of why this is the case drop me a line in the comment section of this blog. For although we don’t have time or money for heavy duty market research I do have time to read your comments. Congratulations to all of you getting married!
