June 11th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
The Future's So Bright
"Whatever you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it."
-W.H. Murray.
Graduation is a time for celebration, for caps and gowns, for the graduate to embark upon a new journey. The future that awaits your graduate is bright, shiny and new. Commencement speeches urge them to seize the day, to follow their dreams, to live boldly. This is not just any ordinary celebration. Graduation is a turning point in a person's life. The moment [...]Read More

Five Personalized Gift Ideas for Father’s Day 2014
June 3rd, 2014 by Andre Nehme
Father’s Day is coming up soon, Sunday June 15th, to be exact, so this is the perfect time to start thinking about what to give dear dad. What you give is mostly determined by your stage of life. When you were four or five years old you probably gave your dad a crayon drawing wishing him a Happy Father’s Day. I still have the drawings my daughter gave me years ago.
Believe me these were the best gifts, then and now. Just looking at the crayon drawing transports me back a full decade. [...]Read More

Personalized-Engraved-Gifts: A Trip down Memory Lane
May 3rd, 2014 by Andre Nehme
Our website, personalized-engraved-gifts.com, was redesigned and went live last month. Keeping up with the times is not always easy and moving to a new website after 12 years is especially frustrating. It's like moving from a house you have lived in for decades, you don't realize how much stuff you have, how out of date it is, and of course the memories it brings back.
We launched personalized-engraved-gifts in 2002 right before the holidays, at that time we were one of the first engraver [...]Read More

Do You Have a Large Amount of Text to Engrave?
April 24th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
You would be surprised at how often we receive orders with large amounts of text. When we first started engraving, it seemed that people would request us to engrave a name & date, perhaps a line saying Congratulations or Happy Birthday. However now the trend is definitely towards longer texts. In part this is probably due to technology, with computer generated images, lasers and better stencil materials, engravers are able to accommodate these type of requests quite easily.
So h [...]Read More

Never Underestimate the Power of an Engraved Wine Bottle
April 16th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
Engraved wine bottles are an awesome gift! That may sound a bit boastful coming from someone who engraves wine bottles for a living, but having spent the weekend dusting our showroom I was reminded of how many really cool projects we’ve worked on over the years.
One of the most impressive bottle designs we’ve engraved comes from our Signature Wine Bottle Line. As shown here the bottle included a grape design, the recipient’s name, the date, and over 40 signatures. Each name was de [...]Read More

The Perfect Custom Engraved Gift for the Home Chef!
April 9th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
I don’t know about you, but in our house cooking is the main event. We enjoy trying different recipes and frequently use recipes from England, India, Thailand, Mexico, Germany Italy, the Middle East - and well basically all over the world.
One of the most annoying things is to be in the middle of cooking a complicated dish only to find out that a moderately hot oven is needed, what the heck is a moderately hot oven? Or better yet a British gas mark of of 5? Even simple calculations [...]Read More

Which Wine Glass Should I Give?
April 2nd, 2014 by Andre Nehme
There are so many different styles of stemware, it’s sometimes hard to tell which glasses are appropriate for which occasion. We offer engraving on a variety of types of wine glasses and stemware, and we carry a number of red and white wine glasses as well as champagne flutes. Over the years we have noticed that most people give toasting flutes for special occasions such as weddings, births, special events and anniversaries. The tall thin bowl portion of the glass provide us an excelle [...]Read More

Gift Ideas for Teachers
March 31st, 2014 by Andre Nehme
Teacher appreciation week will be here soon (the week of May 5th, 2014) and this year I must pay special attention. As homeroom parent, one of my responsibilities is to coordinate gifts for the teacher. When you see how hard teachers work and how much they have to deal with not only from the children, but the parents and the administrators you really do learn to appreciate their hard work.
Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportunity for parents, students, and school administrators to exp [...]Read More

What’s the difference between a Decanter and a Carafe?
March 27th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
Every time we get a new decanter or carafe in, our office turns into a mini battlefield. We usually all agree on whether or not the piece fits our standards, good quality, good clarity of glass or crystal and of course room to engrave. However the fight begins when we try to decide whether or not it should be called a decanter or a carafe.
For two very similar pieces one supplier will list it as a decanter and the other as a carafe. And so it begins....list the piece as described by [...]Read More

What is the difference between crystal and glass?
March 16th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
Glass and Crystal are two of the primary materials used in the engraving industry. Awards, Vases, Bowls, Nameplates, Paperweights and many more gift items all are available in either glass or crystal and can be engraved to create custom engraved personalized gifts.
Glass has been around for millions of years. Glass is actually a natural occurring product formed when silica rich sand is heated to high temperatures then quickly cooled. Three of the most common natural forms of glass [...]Read More

Getting Ready for Administrative Professionals Day – Wednesday, April 23, 2014
March 14th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
With Administrative Professionals Day coming up soon, Wednesday April 23, I became curious how the day was started and when. I wasn’t surprised to learn that it was started in 1952 to recognize secretaries, perhaps I have been watching too any episodes of “Mad Men” but I assumed that the fifties were the golden age of the secretary. However I was surprised that the name changed from Secretaries Day to Administrative Professionals day only in 2000. I would have thought it woul [...]Read More

What is the reason for giving? Is it your friend’s Birthday, you aunt’s 50th Wedding Anniversary, or has your nephew or niece graduated from college? Regardless of the reason of giving the gift there are 2 important factors to consider when you want to give a gift that will be remembered. What you say and How it is presented.
1. How you Say it.
Sure you could wish someone the usual “Happy Anniversary,” “Happy Birthday” or “Congratulations” and fall in with the res [...]Read More

Engraved Wine Bottle’s for Car Clubs
March 5th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
De Tomaso, Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW, Maserati and Ferrari what an action packed line up! Just the names of these car manufacturers makes you feel young, fast, and powerful! Obviously nothing could be further from the truth in my case, but I am proud to say that although I don’t own any of these fantastic vehicles, I actually drive a 2007 Ford Escape, I know many people who do and have had the chance to see these cars in action on numerous occasions. They are truly remarkable machines. [...]Read More

Inspirational Religious Gift Ideas for Confirmation and Baptisms
February 28th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
We are always keeping an eye on the calendar to make sure that we stock enough of the right products for upcoming seasons. Approaching quickly is Easter on April 20th, 2014 and although we typically don’t engrave Easter bunnies on Wine Bottles or on Awards we do receive a sizable number of orders for confirmation gifts and baptism gifts.
I have always accepted that confirmation and baptisms are traditionally head around Easter, but I was never sure as to why. I tried to do some invest [...]Read More

Engraved 3 Liter Bottle of Wine – One of My Favorites
February 26th, 2014 by Andre Nehme
I was looking through some pictures this morning and ran across a picture of a wine bottle we did a few years back. This wine bottle was produced for a local organization to raffle off for a fundraiser.
Although it is hard to tell from the picture I remember that this was a 3 liter bottle of wine and the engraving wrapped completely around the bottle. The amount of detail that went into this project was quite amazing.
First the artwork was designed, then it was deep engraved into the w [...]Read More
